Death of Ornstein the Dragon-slayer -incomplete-by ~Peanuts846

Hey everyone! I decided it would be fun to upload my current art project due this Thursday early.

It is incomplete and will be due for another upload when it is finished but I thought it would be nice just to show what I have done so far.

So basically this is my portrait project of Grade 12 Visual Arts and as you can see it looks very sketchy. That is because I have drawn Ornstein here on a sheet of metal, with a marker, out of words! Very messy words too. Anyway the goal of this project is to pick is to a picture that relates to your motif for the year, I picked Speculative Fiction which covers anything fictional like Fantasy! After you pick a picture you grid the picture and outline it on a sheet of metal or on this clear stuff I forgot the name of. Then you pick a text to write from onto the portrait as many times as you can to get it done. Mine in this case is the game, Dark Souls', prologue text. I also wrote in things like "Boss ahead" or "The Lordvessel" anything as long as it is related to the game.

Now Ornstein was my choice because a. his armor is very awesome and would be fun to draw (and a PAIN IN THE BUTT) b. He is my favourite boss in the game along with Smough and c. this picture is really dramatic : D

The reason I have name this picture "Death of Ornstein the Dragon-slayer" is because this is a screencap from when you kill him first. In the picture he is on his knees about to fall face first to the ground. The background will be replaced with a shadow looming all around Ornstein as the world darkens around him as he meets his end. The main reason I picked a picture of him dying was because one of the big themes in Dark Souls is death so I thought this picture of him would be good. The game is a dark fantasy though so it relates really well to my motif, another good reason to pick it.

This picture should be done soon, hopefully tomorrow. I have been working on it all day (I stayed home) and after 10 hours of work... All I have to say is MY ARM HURTS! and I have a cramp in my hand lol. Anyway it is all worth it considering how well it seems to be turning out!

Hey Everyone! I am terribly sorry for my lateness on uploading the completed one. After many fiascoes with my camera I have finally gotten my brother to offer me use of his to upload the final one. Unfortunately it has no background (everyone seemed to like it without one) so it is just good old Ornstein's torso! I PROMISE I will have it up by Saturday afternoon! Maybe sooner if University doesn't keep kicking me where it hurts~
Anyway sorry for being dead and all~ I will get this up as soon as he is free to take a pic and I am not dying of school projects. I hope you guys like the final one ; _ ;

Fantastic.Ornstein and Smough are my favorite boss at this time. The music and the arena with these two is just incredible. wonderful drawing as well.

Those two are indeed my favorite as well, including their arena and music. I'll be uploading the complete one later as I finally found my camera. It is basically still just Ornstein here, but he doesn't have any empty spots anymore.
